About Tony Pret
Tony Prêt is a small shop built around images and objects.
A mix of books, prints, and crafted pieces that sit somewhere between publishing and everyday life.
It’s not about collecting for status or treating things as precious.
More about living with them, letting them age, move, and shift context.
Some works come from long-term research, others from more immediate gestures.
Together they form a loose archive of observations, fragments, and quiet distortions of reality.
Jaap Scheeren
Jaap Scheeren (Nijmegen, 1979) is a photographer based in Amsterdam. He is a father of two.
Across both his personal and commissioned work, he operates on a narrow line of reliability, exploring estrangement within familiar environments and the people who inhabit them.
His publications include The Black Hole (with Anouk Kruithof), Oma Toos, 3 Roses, 9 Ravens, 12 Months, and Fake Flowers in Full Colour (with Hans Gremmen). What was initially intended as a website became a ten-year overview book titled Jaap Scheeren Cut Shaving.
His most recent work, Flipping The Bird, is a photobook developed over several years, reflecting a moment of exhaustion and an attempt to reconnect with nature, and its response.
Alongside his own projects, he has worked on commissions for FOAM Magazine, The New York Times Magazine, Wallpaper*, The Guardian, Das Magazin, and the Hyères Festival, among others.
